Austin Neal Center is a multidisciplinary artist born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, known for his bold, abstract works that span painting, sculpture, and ceramics. From his earliest experiments in Mrs. Philips' art class to his refined practice today, Austin's journey has been deeply influenced by the mentorship of renowned artists like Belizean woodcarver George Gabb and ceramicist Sinclair Ashley. His artistic education took him to Florence, Italy, where he studied painting and art history under the guidance of Jules Maidoff. There, he mastered the craft of handmade paints and discovered his passion for ceramics, experimenting with Terra Cotta, Majolica, and raku firings in the Tuscan countryside.
