Austin Center’s artistic journey is defined by a lifelong dedication to creating artwork that tells stories, evokes emotion, and fosters connection. From his earliest days experimenting with painting, ceramics, and sculpture, he has continuously pushed the boundaries of his craft, refining his techniques and exploring new materials. His passion for art led him to study under renowned mentors, from Belizean woodcarver George Gabb to master ceramicist Sinclair Ashley, before deepening his skills in Florence, Italy, where he learned the meticulous process of handmaking paints and traditional ceramic glazing methods.

His creative process is deeply immersive—whether shaping clay, layering handmade pigments on canvas, or chiseling sculptures that capture resilience and human connection. His acclaimed Tree of Life series is a direct reflection of this philosophy, intertwining personal narratives with universal themes of growth and endurance. From his commissioned sculpture for the Kindertransport Chapel in Chattanooga to his collaborative Tree of Life installations with refugee communities in Greece and Israel, Center’s work transcends borders, using artistic creation as a medium for dialogue and healing.

Now, in 2025, Center unveils a new chapter in his artistic evolution at Gallery 1401 in Chattanooga, where his latest paintings, sculptures, and ceramics will be on display. This exhibition not only showcases his newest creations but also highlights the continuous transformation of his artistic practice. Having spent nearly a decade honing his craft in New York City, Center merges classical techniques with contemporary approaches, creating work that is as viscerally powerful as it is visually striking.

Through art, Center has shaped both public spaces and private collections, leaving a lasting impression on audiences worldwide. His dedication to creating, experimenting, and refining his vision ensures that every piece—whether a painting, a sculpture, or a ceramic installation—is infused with meaning, craftsmanship, and a deep reverence for the artistic process.
